Your film list

Guest film lists are stored in this browser. Export your list before clearing browser storage or changing devices. Buffalist receives searches, film choices, comparisons and learning progress when needed for recommendations, stats and trivia. Private notes are not used for recommendations.

With an account, Buffalist stores your email, sign-in details and film list so you can sign in and sync. It also stores your profile, reviews, follows, likes, weekly activity and invite credit. When you create an account, your guest rankings can become its saved film list. When you log in to an existing account, its saved films replace the list on this device. Changes made offline to that same account sync when you reconnect.

Public profiles

New profiles are public. They show your name, handle, bio, ranked films, watchlist, reviews and community stats. Your first handle comes from your email prefix; you can edit it in Settings.

Public profiles join leaderboards automatically. Turn off Visible to everyone in Settings to hide your profile and reviews, or Join leaderboards in Settings to leave rankings. Your email, private notes and detailed answer history are not public. Copies saved by others may remain.

Analytics

Analytics are on by default. You can turn them off below; a previous opt-out stays off. PostHog receives selected app actions, active time and browser/device details. A browser ID connects visits. When signed in, activity is linked to your account ID, profile name and handle.

Film choices, reviews, notes, searches, emails and credentials are excluded. There are no session recordings or automatic click or error capture. IP geolocation is disabled, though providers receive connection details.

Checking this browser’s setting…

This choice applies to this browser. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track keep analytics off. Turning analytics off clears this browser’s analytics ID and stops future tracking; it does not delete past activity.

Messages you send

Help and feedback open an email to info@brekky.dev. Email providers receive your address and anything you include. Your account and film list are not attached automatically.

Feedback sent through older versions goes through PostHog even when analytics are off, with a timestamp and random reference. It is stored separately from your account.

Services

• Supabase: accounts, film lists and community data.

• Railway: hosting and logs used to fix errors and prevent abuse.
• PostHog: analytics and feedback from older versions.
• Film and image services, including TMDB and Wikimedia: film details and artwork. Image hosts receive your IP address and other request details. External services have their own privacy terms.

Providers may process data outside your country. Buffalist has no advertising and does not sell personal information.

Storage and deletion

Browser data stays until you or your browser clear it. Account data stays until you remove it or delete your account. Logs and backups follow provider retention settings. Some records may be kept for abuse investigations or legal obligations.

Settings has film and account exports, and account deletion. Deletion removes your account and community data from the active database. Feedback and past analytics are separate.

Contact support to request access, correction or deletion. Include any message reference. We may need to verify the account is yours. Never send passwords, sign-in links or full data exports.

Local law may give you other rights, including the right to complain to your privacy regulator.
